Q&A Regarding the Watch, Its Dial and Components, and Possible Personalizations
Is a Deguiret watch always custom?
Yes, every Deguiret is unique, built especially for you, and includes several possible levels of personalization.
Collection dial or Commission dial?
We offer two types of dials for your bespoke watch:
- Collection Dials: These are created by our Master Enamelers out of their own imagination, emotions, feelings, and inspirations. As has always been the case with Deguiret, every dial is always one-of-a-kind. Once completed, the dials are released in our gallery and become ready to be fitted into a bespoke watch. Once it is reserved, it leaves the gallery and is no longer available for purchase.
- Commission Dials: These are always created on order. Your wishes, tastes, and inspiration are artistically translated by one of our Master Enamelers into a fully unique and personalized artwork. A commissioned dial is a creative project between you and Deguiret, with several steps and milestones until a truly special dial is created.
Note: Collection Dials are released periodically. If you wish to stay informed of the latest releases as well are further Deguiret insider information you can join our private newsletter.
How do I reserve a specific dial?
Upon securing your build spot, we will contact you on a first-come, first-served basis to finalize the details of your watch order, including the choice of dial and personalizations. If you select a Collection Dial, you will have the opportunity to choose from the available options in our gallery at the present time. Once you proceed with the initial payment for your watch order, the dial you have chosen will be reserved for you.
What is the creation, or customization process?
Once you secure a build spot by paying the reservation fee, we will offer you the opportunity to choose for your watch either a Collection Dial or to commission a new one.
- If you choose a Collection Dial, we will introduce you to the different customizations available to you for the different components of the watch (e.g., case finish, bracelet, movement decorations, etc.). Once your order is fully defined, we will build your watch.
- If you choose to commission a dial, we will start a creation process that includes several steps. First, we will exchange ideas and wishes for the dial and the watch components. Then, we will create a brief to establish a common visual language and confirm your idea. Afterward, we will work towards drafting a dial artwork and validate all its aspects (e.g., composition, color palette, etc.) with you. Finally, we will create the dial in cloisonné enamel and build your watch.
